A Very Merry Mucuna Christmas

After visiting the Irula people to discuss the subject of Mucuna, today turned out to be the day we found it. Alive among the bamboo aka “the elephant’s kitchen.” Macuna in her natural habitat. Velvet beans of bright orange and green laced with purple blossoms. The excitement was unreal not only because we found the plant growing amongst the wilderness, but also because Tanya spotted the pods and blossoms. Generally, the time for pods and blossoms is in October, so it seems as though five years of Tanya’s powerful manifestation paid off for this endeavor. Merry Christmas from the universe!

After the Mucuna hunting, we took a ride to a small town. Dr. Rajan said this is where he stops every time he is in the area. They were cooking freshly deep fried onions and zucchini. Even more delicious than any onion rings I have ever tasted in the states. My favorite part though was the milk tea. I glanced over and saw this talent of tea making, then immediately got up from my seat and began capturing the excitement! Dr. Rajan, jokingly said, “and this is why they call it looooong tea!”
